Domestic violence affects women of all ages, colors, faiths and walks of life. Yet thousands endure lives of secret abuse because they are afraid or ashamed, or because they simply don't know where to turn for help.

That's why we built Sophia's House. With a call or a click, domestic abuse victims in the Memphis area can reach out, get the help they need and start a new life, free from fear. We provide:


  • Shelter, meals, clothing and transportation
  • Individual and group therapy to heal emotional trauma
  • One-on-one case management
  • Education in independent living skills
  • Job counseling and placement services
  • Legal advocacy, including help with restraining orders
  • Group and play therapy for children through the Exchange Club
